Brussels, November 11, 2024 – Our 2024 Autumn Summit has concluded successfully, with key takeaways including shifts in the commercial real estate market across Europe, the integration of evolving ESG applications in valuations, and significant interest in energy investments.

The summit kicked off with a guided tour of Tour & Taxis, one of Brussels’ most iconic and historic industrial sites, now transformed into a vibrant hub for culture, events, and business. Our Chairman, Vito Crosetto, and Network Director, Maurizio Negri, formally welcomed the group. We then introduced our newest members from Germany and Greece, with market updates from country heads Marcus Badmann of bulwiengesa appraisal and Anna Vlasopoulou of Synergy Engineering Property.
The focus then shifted to ESG and its impact on real estate valuations, as well as the evolving benchmarks and standards for building efficiency across Europe. In a roundtable discussion, we heard actual case studies of how members are integrating ESG into property management, led by Paulien Geeraerds and Toon De Meester of Ceusters. Enrico Vissio of PRAXI shared the latest developments in energy sector, illustrating how sustainable investment strategies are driving the ecological transition and supporting ESG initiatives in the EU.
On Day 2, we received an informative update from Chris Grzesik on the impact of the latest laws on Prudent Value and the EU Green Deal on property valuation. The summit concluded with valuable insights from our Young Leaders, who shared their perspectives on our collective capabilities in valuing fund portfolios.
Maurizio Negri, Network Director, reflected on the summit’s success, noting “it was once again filled with professional enthusiasm and a shared commitment to shaping the future of real estate valuations and staying ahead of emerging challenges”.
